Rob Bilotta Clarifies HRC Goals & Work with Eric Batista

Bilotta said the headlines and speculation about bad blood between the HRC and Worcester City Manager Eric Batista is overblown. The members of the HRC are working towards the goals the City Manager has, most notably when it comes to the Executive Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, while also focusing on tasks the independent committee feel are important. , Bilotta said at a meeting this past Monday the chair had members rank what they feel are the most important tasks before them. Police oversight came out as the top goal but Bilotta, who stated his top goal is affordable housing, said that doesn’t mean that they will not be working on equity and diversity. He said the committee will break down into smaller work groups to concentrate on different issues at the same time.
