Worcester, MA-Lisa Malo, Marketing Director of the Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District, joined Hank Stolz with Tori Buerschaper, Executive Director of Community Harvest Project.
Tori explained how volunteers—regardless of farming experience—help harvest fresh produce for hunger relief organizations across Massachusetts. Community Harvest Project grows fruits and vegetables on farms in Grafton and Harvard, hosts more than 6,000 volunteers annually, and is partnering with the Downtown Worcester BID during the Out to Lunch Festival.
What is Community Harvest Project?
Community Harvest Project is a nonprofit farm in Grafton and Harvard, Massachusetts, that grows fresh produce for hunger relief organizations.
Do I need farming experience to volunteer?
No. Volunteers receive complete instruction and work alongside experienced staff members.
Where does the food go?
Fresh fruits and vegetables are donated to organizations serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Massachusetts.
Can groups volunteer together?
Yes. Community Harvest Project welcomes businesses, schools, civic organizations, families, and community groups.
How many volunteers participate each year?
