WORCESTER, MA- On this week’s Worcester Red Sox Show, Bill Wanless filled in for Dr. Charles Steinberg, joining Hank Stolz alongside WooSox broadcaster Alex Jensen and Telegram & Gazette reporter Tommy Cassell.

The conversation centered on the Worcester Red Sox’s strong start to the 2026 season, with early signs pointing to both individual growth and overall roster depth.

One player drawing significant attention is Mikey Romero. Jensen noted a clear transformation in Romero’s approach at the plate.

“Mikey Romero looks like a totally different guy than he was a year ago,” Jensen said. “He looks like a different hitter to me this year… much more complete.”

Beyond Romero, the group highlighted the organization’s pitching depth, noting that the strength of the staff extends well beyond top prospect Payton Tolle—a promising sign for sustained success as the season unfolds.

Cassell also shared one of the more compelling stories in the system: the unlikely rise of Tyler Uberstine.

“That’s a crazy story,” Cassell said. “That’s a story that belongs on Netflix.”

In addition to on-field analysis, the show offered listeners a closer look at Jensen and Cassell themselves, including Cassell’s new project, Cassell’s Corner, now available on YouTube.

With a strong start, emerging talent, and compelling stories throughout the roster, the WooSox are giving fans plenty of reasons to keep a close eye on the season ahead at Polar Park.
