Fitchburg Public Market

The Fitchburg Public Market will be open within the next two weeks. The sign is going up now at the Main St. location. It will be a welcome addition to a resurgent Fitchburg. Shon Rainford of the Worcester Regional Food Hub tells Talk of the Commonwealth that the market will be open 7 to 7 and to start it will be open 7 days a week. The Food Hub had a summer try out of a similar concept in Worcester at the “Glass Tower.” Different food vendors serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Fitchburg Public Market will open with handmade chocolates, Colombian hamburgers, cakes for all occasions, Java Juice, Puerto Rican street foods, Halal chicken and tacos. Rainford says that as concepts prove successful and need a place to grow they will be able to leave the market and open in larger, empty spaces in the city. Allowing Fitchburg to grow and new concepts to then come into the market.
