Fueling Debate: Should Worcester Hit Pause on New Gas Stations? A Look at the City’s Moratorium Proposal

Should there be a Moratorium on New Gas Stations in Worcester?
Should there be a Moratorium on New Gas Stations in Worcester? The Worcester City Council will take a look at the question. Matt Wally on the Radio Roundtable said he couldn’t disagree more with the order. He says he has no problem on a case by case basis if neighbors come out and argue against a gas station at a particular site but he is dead set against a moratorium. He says the market will take care of it. He points out that right now car makers are curtailing the making of electronic vehicles. Ben White argues in favor of the moratorium. That it is a quality of life issue. More green space is needed in the city not the 61st gas station. White argues there is no pressing need for more gas stations.
