Brigadier General (USA, Retired) Tom Landwermeyer is the President and CEO of Homes For Our Troops (HFOT). He joined Hank to talk not only about the mission of HFOT but of a Community Kickoff event at 10 a.m. Saturday August 3rd at South High in Worcester. The event will introduce Marine Sergeant Craig Brady to the community. HFOT is building a home for SGT. Brady in Holden. On January 7, 2010, during his third combat deployment, Sergeant Brady was conducting a battle damage assessment with the 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, when he was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Nowzad, Afghanistan. He lost his right leg below the knee and sustained injuries to his back and left forearm. The home being built in Holden will have special accommodations. The kickoff event is free and open to the public.
