WORCESTER, MA-Radio Worcester’s latest sports conversation looked ahead to the MayeDay Celebrity Softball Classic, scheduled for May 31 at Polar Park, with Ryan Altizer of Icon Sports previewing the event and its celebrity lineup, including Julian Edelman, Dave Portnoy, and Hunter Henry. The event benefits the MayeDay Family Foundation, created by Drake Maye and Ann Michael Maye.

The conversation also turned to the Boston Red Sox, with NESN’s Tom Caron describing interim manager Chad Tracy as a stabilizing presence following the firing of Alex Cora. Reuters reported that Tracy was named interim manager after the Red Sox dismissed Cora and several coaches in late April.

Caron said the team’s pitching and defense have been strong enough to keep Boston competitive, but the offense remains the issue, especially at Fenway Park.
