Congressman Jim McGovern (D) running for reelection called into Talk of the Commonwealth to make his closing argument for being returned to Washington. He is facing independent candidate Cornelius Shea on Tuesday. McGovern says it has been the honor of his life to represent the people of the 2nd Congressional District. McGovern says he feels he’s done a pretty good job over the years. That if you look around his district he has delivered countless millions of dollars in federal money to help economic development and to rebuild aging infrastructure. He says he has been a champion for human rights. That if the United States stands for anything we need to stand for human rights. That he has stood up to Putin. That he is proud of the fact that he has been a force in fighting to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world. “All in all I feel I have represented the values of the people of the 2nd Congressional District.” He asks for your vote.
