In 1900, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur found the undeveloped land stretching from Plantation Street to Lake Quinsigamond to be perfect for peaceful contemplation, away from their teaching duties. They affectionately renamed the then-called Swan Farm to “God’s Acre.”
For over a century, Notre Dame has provided a tranquil haven of care, renewal, and healthy living. Recognizing the increasing needs, Notre Dame Health Care was established in 1990 and began serving the broader community in 1993 with the launch of our award-winning skilled nursing facility.
Notre Dame is dedicated to making it’s home welcoming and providing high-quality, dignified care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
