WORCESTER, MA- Summer is officially arriving in downtown Worcester, and the Downtown Worcester BID has assembled a packed schedule of events designed to bring residents, workers, families, and visitors together throughout the season.

Appearing on Radio Worcester, representatives from the Downtown Worcester BID outlined a comprehensive lineup of programming centered around Worcester Common, including the return of the popular Out to Lunch Festival, World Cup watch parties, and a brand-new roller-skating series.

The centerpiece of the summer calendar is the return of Out to Lunch, which will take place for ten consecutive Wednesdays beginning June 24 and continuing through August 26. The weekly festival will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Worcester Common and will once again transform downtown into a vibrant gathering space filled with food, music, shopping, and entertainment.

Visitors can expect live musical performances, an expanded farmers market featuring both anchor vendors and rotating artisan participants, nonprofit organizations, community exhibitors, and special intermission performances from local youth dance studios and performing arts groups.

Organizers say the goal is to create an experience that appeals to a wide range of ages and interests while supporting local businesses, artists, and community organizations.

In addition to Out to Lunch, Worcester Common will serve as a gathering place for soccer fans during the summer through the Game On World Cup Watch Party Series. The events are expected to bring residents and visitors together to celebrate international soccer while creating a festival atmosphere in the heart of downtown.

Adding to the lineup is a new weekly roller-skating series scheduled for Friday evenings beginning June 26. Organizers describe the program as an affordable recreational activity designed to activate Worcester Common during summer evenings, with admission expected to remain under $15.

A significant focus of the programming is accessibility and community inclusion. The Downtown Worcester BID is working closely with numerous partners, including the City’s Cultural Development Division, the Accessibility Advisory Commission, and a variety of local organizations to ensure events remain welcoming and accessible to all residents.

The events are designed to encourage people to spend time downtown, support local businesses, and experience Worcester’s growing cultural and entertainment offerings.

With live music, local vendors, family-friendly activities, sporting events, and affordable recreation, organizers hope the summer series will continue building momentum for downtown Worcester as a destination for community engagement and celebration.
