QCC President Pedraja on Enrollment Surge, Student Needs & the Future of MassReconnect

qcc
QCC President Dr. Luis Pedraja on the future. QCC has seen enrollment rise 18% since MassReconnect went into effect. Pedraja says it isn’t just the head count but they are also way up in credits as students are taking more classes. These are students who are going to stay in our area. As more students arrive, QCC will need to provide more supports for them. He says that MassReconnect covers tuition and fees but that is not the full cost. It does not cover housing and food and many students are providers at home. Pedraja says there will need to be even more support and that includes pay for faculty who are working ever harder.
Open Houses are coming up at QCC on March 6th on the main campus and on March 13th at the downtown campus.
