Radio Roundtable Debates Worcester City Council Meeting Frequency and Celebrates WooSox Fan Milestone
Photos- Radio Worcester
Worcester MA -The Radio Roundtable gets into a discussion of how often the Worcester City Council needs to meet. Former Councilor Gary Rosen says out of a potentional 52 Tuesday night meetings, they will miss almost half, 23 missed meetings this year. Rosen says that’s too many. Former Councilor Matt Wally says he is surprised it is that many but he isn’t as bothered by it. He argues the work often gets done in the sub-committees. That is what to look at. How many times are committees meeting, are the councilors on the committees in attendance to move the agenda items forward., that is a better indicator of the work being done than who’s speaking on a Tuesday night. With the news of the Worcester Red Sox being the only minor league team out of a 120 to attract 500,000 fans for three consecutive seasons, the Roundtable looks at the success of the park and talks about why a few voices are still so against it.
