Start the Press! The Newspaper That Sparked a Revolution. Scott Casper stops by the Voice of Business on the Talk of the Commonwealth to invite everyone to The American Antiquarian Society Open House, Saturday, April 12th, from 12 to 4. The American Antiquarian Society commemorates 250 years since Isaiah Thomas brought his printing press and newspaper, The Massachusetts Spy, to Worcester. Thomas smuggled the press, in pieces, out of Boston to Worcester just three days before the battle of Concord and Lexington on April 16th, 1775. Thomas’s eyewitness account of those engagements was printed in Worcester. Thomas went on to found the American Antiquarian Society.
