Worcester, MA-Veterans Inc. celebrates its 35th anniversary with the 2026 Gala Military Ball on October 24th at their Worcester headquarters, the armory on Grove St. Raymond Carville, Public Affairs Manager for Veterans Inc. stopped by the Radio Worcester Diner to give us all the details.
This biannual black-tie event transforms the historic armory with red carpets, military regalia, and an arc of swords ceremony featuring local JROTC programs.
“We opened right down on Grove Street in Worcester 35 years ago with a very small idea to help veterans and their families in the area get over the chronic scourge of homelessness” said Carville, “We’ve been very privileged to help over 120,000 veterans and their family members in that time”
Live Entertainment and Recognition for Community Supporters
“There’s nothing like a gala military ball, a charity ball. There’s nothing like it going on in the area” Carville tells us, “We completely transform our indoor space with red carpets and beautiful draping.”
Entertainment includes the Liberty Bells performing World War II-era music from the National World War II Museum, Dan Gable and the Abeltones big band, and a rumored special appearance by a top Elvis impersonator.
The evening honors community supporters including Senator Mike Moore and Hanscom Federal Credit Union while raising funds for Veterans Inc. programs serving over 120,000 veterans and families across New England, Montana, and North Dakota.
Stars and Stripes Program Offers Another Way to Support Veterans
Guests unable to attend can participate through the Stars and Stripes program, purchasing $150 plaques to honor veterans.
Carville tells us where the money goes, “We have the first in the nation when it opened nine years ago, a long-term recovery program for veterans and their family members who were suffering from the scourge of post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse” he adds, “That money is going to help put a house over a veteran’s head. It’s going to help them get food at our food pantry”
