WORCESTER, MA. The Worcester Red Sox are closing out their regular season with Fan Appreciation Week, running Tuesday, September 15, through Sunday, September 20, at Polar Park.
WooSox President Dr. Charles Steinberg and Vice President of Marketing Steve Oliveira joined Radio Worcester to preview a packed schedule designed to thank the fans who helped the team surpass last season’s attendance.
“It’s easily our biggest week every season—Fan Appreciation Week,” Oliveira said. “It’s the last one of the season, so we try to go big.”
Steinberg expressed his appreciation for the continued support the team has received.
“We are so grateful to people for packing the park more this year, as of this time, than last year,” Steinberg said. “And last year, we had more people than the year before.”
He noted that Boston Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony’s recent rehabilitation assignment with the WooSox also helped push attendance beyond last year’s mark.
Special Guests and Player Autographs at Polar Park
The week begins with Tail Waggin’ Tuesday, followed by WWE Night on Wednesday featuring Framingham native and WWE Superstar Carmelo Hayes.
Longtime Major League pitcher and Milton native Rich Hill will appear at Polar Park on Thursday.
During each weekday game, fans will also have an opportunity to meet WooSox players for autographs and photographs inside Sherwood’s Diner.
The autograph opportunities become even bigger on Sunday, when the entire team and coaching staff will meet fans along the warning track.
“Sunday from 11 to 11:45, we’re going to have the full team and coaches out there along the warning track,” Oliveira explained. “Fans can come down to the field, do the full loop, and get autographs from the whole team.”
Fans attending Sunday’s game will also receive a WooSox team poster.
Giveaways, Fireworks and Family Activities
Giveaways will take place throughout Fan Appreciation Week, including bobbleheads and prizes supplied by WooSox partners. One of the featured prizes is a YETI cooler valued at approximately $500.
The team is also continuing the book drive launched in tribute to Dolly Parton and her lifelong commitment to children’s literacy. Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used books to designated drop-off locations throughout Polar Park.
Many of the team’s popular promotions will continue during the final homestand, including Friday night fireworks, Saturday’s Sunset Catch, and Kids Run the Bases on Sunday.
The season concludes with an Endless Sunset Catch on Sunday, giving fans one final opportunity to step onto the Polar Park field and play catch as the sun goes down on the 2026 WooSox season.
