WooSox President Weighs In on Madison Properties’ Tax Dispute and Future Development

polar park Madison properties

There is supposed to be an office building beyond left field at Polar Park. The project and others by Madison Properties were an integral part of the deal that brought the Triple A team of the Boston Red Sox to Worcester. The project has never materialized and Madison Properties has announced that it will not be paying the taxes and fees it has been paying over the last four years going forward. Dr. Charles Steinberg, President of the Worcester Red Sox, comments on the recent WBJ story on the Worcester Redevelopment Authority demanding the money be paid. Steinberg says that Diamond Baseball Holdings, the owners of the Worcester Red Sox and over 40 minor league teams, has an interest in seeing the project completed, perhaps as a hotel and wishes to speak with Madison Properties.
