WORCESTER, MASS.-Get Ready for the 4th Annual Paragus IT Firehouse Cook Off.

Tuesday, August 12
5 PM – 9 PM Polar Park
Worcester, MA

Ret. Worcester Firefighter Lt. John Franco is an organizer and host of the event. He brings us everything we need to know. The Firehouse Cookoff is a twist on a traditional chili cookoff, where firefighters from different stations compete to make the best meal, which is then judged by a panel of local experts. There is also a People’s Choice Award. The event raises money for local charities, including Detect Together, which focuses on early cancer detection, and the Worcester Firefighters 6K Road Race. Doors open at five. Please arrive by 5:45 for the opening ceremony, featuring bagpipes and the national anthem, as well as raffles and an opportunity for attendees to mingle and enjoy the food and camaraderie. The presentation to the judges begins at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are limited and are expected to sell out quickly. Buy Now! As Franco says, “We want everybody to leave their stuffed tasting, all the different things, going back for the favorites and just keep on having fun.” www.paragusit.com/firehouse-cook-off Last year, the Cook Off generated $20,000 for the Worcester Fire Department 6K, which honors the memory of the “Worcester 6” firefighters, and DetecTogether, a nonprofit that promotes early cancer detection.
