By Hank Stolz

WORCESTER, Mass. —State Senator Michael Moore stopped by the Talk of the Commonwealth morning show to share his perspectives on the current immigration enforcement climate and the state’s role in addressing related issues. He also provided updates on legislative efforts around data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence regulation. Senator Moore emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and adherence to the rule of law, while acknowledging the divide in public opinion on immigration enforcement. He spoke on what is happening in L.A., as well as what we are seeing locally with the arrest of an 18-year-old Milford student and the continued protests over the Eureka Street arrest and aftermath.

The senator highlighted the state legislature’s efforts to regulate data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, including proposed bans on certain AI-powered weapons and a potential federal preemption on state AI regulation.

He noted the challenges of keeping up with the rapid pace of technological change and the need for the state to set standards and protect citizens’ rights.
