WORCESTER, MA– John Somers, Artistic Director of Studio Theater Worcester, joined Talk of the Commonwealth to talk about the company’s production of The Minutes, a Tony-nominated and Pulitzer Prize finalist play by Tracy Letts. The political dark comedy, which dives into the complexities of small-town politics, was strategically scheduled to coincide with local municipal elections to spark conversations about civic engagement.
To amplify that message, the theater has partnered with the League of Women Voters and the Worcester Election Commission with three major goals: increasing awareness of local elections, registering new voters, and boosting voter turnout.
Performances of The Minutes will be held at the Worcester Academy Performance Center on September 12, 13, 19, and 20 at 7:30 p.m., and on September 14 and 21 at 2:00 p.m.
