WORCESTER, MASS-Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce CEO and President Tim Murray continues to be critical of the state’s Board of Education to implement a lottery system for admission to vocational and technical school programs, arguing that it will reduce the number of graduates. There is a significant waiting list for vocational programs, with an estimated 11,000 students seeking admission each year. Murray talks about the incredible importance of vocational education to Central MA and how this move will weaken it. He advocates for expanding access to vocational programs, particularly at comprehensive high schools, to provide more options for students. As the head of the chamber and previously as Lt. Governor Murray has championed vocational and technical education in Massachusetts, particularly in the Worcester region, where he has worked to expand access to these programs. www.worcesterchamber.org/
Murray also touches on upcoming events and initiatives organized by the Chamber of Commerce, including the Breakfast Club and Golf Tournament.
