Worcester, MA-WiseDine is a campus dining technology platform founded by recent Holy Cross graduate Nico Corporan, developed from his personal experience of being rushed to the emergency room due to nutritional deficiencies while in college. He describes what happened, “Shooting pain in my appendix area. Now, after speaking with some medics, they believed my appendix was about to burst, when in reality, this was just because my body lacked a proper balanced diet” From that came the idea for the app, “It was definitely a pretty brutal experience in the moment. My parents were getting ready to drive up from New York and ultimately, I mean, it just led to more conversations with campus dieticians”

The app helps students navigate campus dining by providing personalized meal recommendations based on dietary restrictions, allergies, and personal health goals. Students sign in with their school email to access their campus dining database, complete a brief onboarding about their needs and objectives, and receive curated meal suggestions from hundreds of daily campus options. The platform serves three core groups: students with severe dietary restrictions, student athletes seeking performance nutrition guidance, and dining teams seeking real-time student feedback .”When I first found this idea really, it just started as something that would be more of a student facing app… And then the more conversations we had and just more research we did into the space, we realized that it’s really the school dieticians and the dining departments themselves that are in need of hosting this type of support”

Unlike generic calorie counters, WiseDine functions as an educational platform that strengthens connections between students and campus wellness resources rather than replacing them. “I want to say at this point we’ve spoken with over 50 either campus dieticians or just general licensed dieticians” said Corporan. With mentorship from Auxilium’s innovation studio, Corporan pivoted from a purely student-facing tool to a solution that empowers school dieticians and dining departments to better support their students. The company aims to partner with large corporate dining providers to scale across hundreds of campuses nationwide.
