WORCESTER, MA– Dr. Charles Steinberg, Emerson White, and Katie Siegel from the Worcester Red Sox joined Radio Worcester to share details about a busy and heartwarming season at Polar Park.

The WooSox Foundation is once again stepping up to support the community through a series of charitable initiatives. Upcoming events include a winter coat drive with Sheriff Lew Evangelidis, and a food drive to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank, especially timely as local families continue to feel the effects of SNAP benefit changes. The team will also host its annual complimentary steak dinner for more than 200 veterans, honoring those who have served.

The Foundation’s signature event, the Fourth Annual WooSox Foundation Honors Gala, takes place December 6th. The evening will celebrate four community leaders and feature appearances by WooSox players Nick Sogard and Peyton Tolle.

And if you thought the excitement of Boo in the Woo was hard to top—get ready for Winter in Wooville, a brand new holiday festival transforming Polar Park into a winter wonderland. The event will feature a holiday market and a “Charity Tree Village”, where the nonprofit with the best-decorated tree will earn a $5,000 donation.

Dr. Steinberg also shared details on the “Dream Makers” program, which grants wishes to fans throughout the season—and capped off the conversation with a lighthearted Fenway Park ghost story that perfectly blended baseball, nostalgia, and New England folklore.
