The “Glass Tower” in Downtown Worcester Welcomes Upscale Restaurant, Food Hub Mercado Continues Through Summer
A new upscale restaurant will be opening in the old Santander space at the “Glass Tower” in downtown Worcester. That, Shon Rainford – Director of the Worcester Regional Food Hub, says is good news. Unfortunately, it means the Permanent Pop-Up/Marketplace that had been operating in the space since October has had to shut down. On Talk of the Commonwealth, Rainford said not to worry, people loved the concept and they will open elsewhere. One possible location is Union Station which is set to house the food hub kitchens in the near future. Plans for a marketplace in Fitchburg are also nearing completion and fingers are crossed for an October opening in that city. The Mercado from the Food Hub will be running Saturdays in the old Santander space through the summer.
