WHA’s Corrales & Ayala on Transforming Affordable Housing

Alex Corrales, CEO of the Worcester Housing Authority, and Billy Ayala, WHA Housing Manager, come on the Talk of the Commonwealth morning show to do a deep dive into three important projects. The WHA is in the affordable housing business and they have been working on providing people with more affordable units. 38 Lewis St. is 24 micro housing units for homeless individuals and is almost fully occupied. Curtis apartments is taking 372 units, demolishing them, (no, not all at the same time) and redeveloping them into over 550 apartments. Lakeside apartments, over 75 years old, has 202 apartments that will be demolished and redeveloped for home ownership and will add another 330 units of affordable housing.
