Worcester, MA- Matt Wally, President of the Worcester Educational Development Foundation, has announced a new mini-grant initiative in honor of the foundation’s 20th anniversary.
The program, called “20 for 20,” will award 20 grants of $500 each to teachers in Worcester Public Schools. The grants are designed to support innovative and creative classroom projects that often fall outside traditional school budgets.
According to Wally, the initiative reflects WEDF’s longstanding mission to support educators and enhance learning opportunities across the city.
The mini-grants are open to projects in several key focus areas, including:
-
STEM education
-
Arts and culture
-
Health and wellness
-
College and career awareness
Over the years, similar grants from WEDF have helped fund a wide range of projects, such as community gardens, school murals, and support for academic clubs initiatives that enrich school communities and provide hands-on learning experiences for students.
Worcester public school teachers interested in applying for a “20 for 20” mini-grant must submit their applications by April 15. Applications can be completed online through the foundation’s website at WEDFwps.org.
As the Worcester Educational Development Foundation marks two decades of service, the “20 for 20” initiative underscores its continued commitment to empowering educators and investing directly in Worcester classrooms.
