Worcester, MA- Worcester hockey has a milestone worth celebrating. Worcester Railers Chief Operating Officer Mike Myers stopped by the Radio Worcester Diner to discuss a busy opening weekend, the city’s 1,000th professional hockey victory, and what fans can look forward to this season.

The Railers welcomed 9,130 fans to the DCU Center across their two-night opening weekend, including a sellout crowd on Saturday night.

Three Teams, One Worcester Hockey Milestone

Worcester professional hockey recorded its 1,000th win on Saturday, October 17, when the Railers defeated the Maine Mariners, 4–2.

The total brings together victories by the Worcester IceCats, Worcester Sharks, and Worcester Railers. It is a milestone shared across three teams and generations of fans who have followed professional hockey in the city.

For longtime supporters, the achievement connects familiar team names and memories with the Railers’ current chapter at the DCU Center.

Heart of the Commonwealth Jerseys Join the Lineup

Myers also discussed the Railers’ new Heart of the Commonwealth jerseys for this season, adding another local connection for fans following the team.

The jerseys were among the highlights of a conversation that covered both Worcester’s hockey history and the season ahead.

Railers Fight Cancer Night Returns November 7

The Railers’ next Saturday home game brings a community cause to the ice. Railers Fight Cancer, presented by Consigli, takes place November 7 at the DCU Center, with puck drop against the Wheeling Nailers at 6:05 p.m.

Before the Railers game, the Boston Bruins Alumni will face the Why Me All-Stars in an exhibition included with admission. The pregame start time will be announced by the team.

Worcester will wear specialty lavender jerseys, with auction proceeds benefiting Why Me & Sherry’s House and its support for Central Massachusetts families facing childhood cancer.
