Charles Luster Runs for City Council with Focus on Unity, Public Safety, and Food Access
By Staff
WORCESTER, Mass. —Charles Luster discusses his background as a community leader and the reasons he decided to run, including his concerns about the direction of the city and specific issues he wants to address, such as food insecurity, public safety, and job creation. He also addresses the controversy around a video he posted showing drug use in a local park and his proposed solutions to address the city’s homelessness and drug problems. Luster has proposed innovative solutions, such as creating a “hazmat team” to address the needle problem and working with small businesses to address food deserts. Luster believes the current City Council has been too divided and that he can bring a collaborative, solutions-focused approach if elected. Luster is the founder and executive director of the nonprofit organization “Together We Eat”, which operates hydroponic farming programs and provides food assistance and youth programs in the city. He is also a father, coach, and grandfather, running for the Worcester City Council at-large position.
