WORCESTER, MA-The Radio Roundtable with Hank Stolz, Ben White, Randy Feldman, and Guillermo Creamer turned its attention this week to Worcester’s November election and the five contested district races on the ballot.

The panel discussed how heated district campaigns could influence voter turnout across the city, particularly for candidates vying for the highly competitive At-Large City Council seats. With more than one race carrying a left-right ideological split, the group noted that heavy district-level turnout could play a decisive role in shaping the final outcome, especially for those battling for the sixth At-Large seat.

Beyond politics, the Roundtable shifted focus to Worcester’s evolving identity. From sports teams and festivals to the city’s thriving restaurant scene, the question was raised: do people think about “going to Worcester” in the same way they think about visiting Boston or Providence?

Adding to the conversation, Holy Cross student Bryce Maloney’s recent op-ed in The Holy Cross Spire offered a fresh perspective on how many students perceive Worcester. The discussion of Maloney’s essay opened up broader questions about town-gown relations and how the city can better connect with the tens of thousands of college students who call Worcester home.

As Worcester’s political dynamics and cultural identity continue to evolve, the panel suggested that both could play a defining role in the city’s trajectory this fall and beyond.
