Lisa Swanson, CEO of the Better Business Bureau of Central New England, tells us this is also a busy time for scammers. Lisa says, scammers love vacation season because people are excited, moving quickly, and often looking for a deal. She details three very popular scams and how to protect against them, flights, hotels, and vacation rentals.
Lisa says, vacation rental scams continue to be one of the most common travel scams reported to BBB. Protect yourself by booking through reputable rental platforms whenever possible and reading reviews carefully. Also, reverse-search property photos if something seems suspicious and pay with a credit card when possible.
