WORCESTER, MALift Off! Space Explorers is ready for takeoff at the EcoTarium. The museum’s new permanent exhibit launches with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, September 13 at 4 p.m. EcoTarium President and CEO Noreen Smith and Deputy Director of Museum Operations Katie Chappell joined Talk of the Commonwealth to invite the community to this special event.

Funded by NASA and supported by the Massachusetts congressional delegation, the exhibit is designed to ignite a passion for science and nature—especially space exploration—in the next generation. Visitors will experience a highly interactive environment, with exhibits on how rockets work, a simulated launch sequence, gyroscopes, and telescopes.

The EcoTarium has also completed major upgrades, including a $1.6 million renovation of its full-dome planetarium and the installation of a new deep-space telescope in its observatory. These investments ensure that the museum continues to inspire curiosity and wonder as it celebrates its 200th anniversary, cementing its place as one of the oldest museum institutions in the United States.
