WORCESTER, MA– Radio Worcester is proud to announce that we have been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Community Impact Award by the Better Business Bureau of Central New England (BBB CNE). This prestigious honor recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to their customers, employees, industry reputation and—most importantly—the communities they serve.

Radio Worcester has strived to deliver local news, meaningful conversation and vital public-service content for the residents of Worcester and Central Massachusetts. From deep-dive interviews with elected officials and business leaders to focused segments on consumer awareness and community improvement, our team works every day to elevate the voices of our region.

Receiving the Community Impact Award is both an honor and a motivating milestone. It underscores our foundational belief: that media can do more than report news—it can help build stronger neighborhoods, informed citizens and a more vibrant civic life.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Our entire Radio Worcester team, whose dedication to excellence has brought us here.

  • All of our guests, partners and community members who engage in our conversations and help shape our content.

  • The Better Business Bureau of Central New England for recognizing organizations that prioritize community impact.

As we celebrate this award, we also recommit ourselves to even greater community service. We will continue to pursue powerful journalism, deepen our local partnerships and find new ways to make a positive difference throughout Central Massachusetts.

Thank you for listening, engaging and believing in the power of community-driven media.

Worcester Chamber Survey: Residents Concerned About Housing, City Council Dysfunction

Tim Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, discussed results from a new survey showing that while 50% of residents believe Worcester is headed in the right direction, that figure is down 10% from two years ago. Housing has emerged as the top concern at 22%, overtaking public safety. More than 80% of respondents said the City Council should focus on local and neighborhood issues. The survey also showed strong support for the Worcester Police and greater demand for vocational and technical education. Murray further criticized the Worcester Board of Health for denying a tobacco license to a women- and minority-owned nightclub, citing job losses and poor communication from city departments.

Chamber Supports Clean City Push and Culinary Growth Through Food Hub and Green Corps Initiatives

In a recent Talk of the Commonwealth interview, Tim Murray of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce spotlights two key initiatives: the Worcester Food Hub, which provides commercial kitchen space for local food entrepreneurs, and the Worcester Green Corps, a cleanup and beautification partnership. As the city intensifies efforts to combat trash and blight, the Chamber remains at the forefront of collaboration and community improvement.
